Just like you, I KNEW I wanted to return to trail running and conquer marathons. But I was overwhelmed by the journey ahead, filled with doubts, fears, and health challenges like chronic pain and fibromyalgia that kept me from pursuing my dream.
Can you relate?
I always dreamed of being a successful runner, conquering marathons, and finding freedom through my passion for exploring the outdoors. But with my health conditions, I had no idea where to start, or if it was even possible. It felt like the odds were stacked against me, yet the desire to run, to feel that sense of achievement, never left.
I needed physiotherapy, rehab personal training, support with nutrition, along with treatments like acupuncture and a chiropractor, but none of that was free on the NHS. With a young family and only being able to work part-time, finances were tight. The NHS waiting lists were long, and the in-depth support I needed just wasn’t available. I felt stuck, wanting to recover but unable to afford the treatments that could help me.
I desperately wanted to run, but the pain was too much to handle. Every time I tried, I'd have to cut it short and end up spending the rest of the day in bed, frustrated and stuck. Chronic fatigue and recurring injuries made it feel like my body was working against me, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever be able to run again. All I wanted was to be back on the trails, but I didn’t know if it was even possible while managing the pain. Years later I was officially diagnosed with fibromyalgia.
This was my DREAM, but the fears, unknowns, and doubts felt endless. I started losing faith in making it a reality, and life became joyless. I dreaded the future, fearing I wouldn’t be able to enjoy time with my family and children, weighed down by the thought of never being able to fully live or run again.

Today, I am living the life I always dreamed of, taking on ultra marathons, and helping others do the same, despite my health challenges.
I've completed multiple ultra marathons, including 100-mile races, and helped numerous runners return to the trail and achieve their marathon dreams, even with chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and other significant health conditions.
